Customer Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
  • How long does the battery last a time full charge for the NP-FV40 NP-FV50 BATTERY. The battery I have currently is not good enough. Please let me know thank you

It all depends on your camcorder power consumption. You can calculate the NP-FV50 battery runtime using this formula:
    (1.05 x 7.4) / X, where X is the camcorder power consumption in Watts. For example, if X = 8.5W, then 1.05 x 7.4 / 8.5 = 0.9 hours.
If you need a battery that lasts longer, then choose the battery with the highest capactity. For example, the NP-FV series batteries that we carry have 1.05Ah (NP-FV50), 2.1Ah (NP-FV70),  and 3.9Ah (NP-FV100) capacity. So for NP-FV100 battery with the capacity of 3.9Ah, the runtime should be 3.9 x 7.4 / 8.5 = 3.4 hours. Hope this answers your question.
